US, Taliban Conclude 8th Round of Talks with Progress

KABUL - The eight round of talks between US and the Taliban has concluded with progress as both sides worked on the technical and practical aspect of possible peace agreement.
The Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on his social media handler said that the eight round of talks with US ended on Monday.
“It was agreed that both sides would consult with their leadership on course of action in the future,” Mujahid said.
Zalmay Khalilzad, the US special representative for Afghan peace offered his best wished on the occasion of Eid and said: “Many scholars believe that the deeper meaning of Eid al-Hadha is to sacrifice one's ego. Leaders on all sides of the war in Afghanistan must take this to heart as we strive for peace. My very best wishes.”
He added, “Eid Mubarak. I hope this is the last Eid where Afghanistan is at war. I know Afghans yearn for peace. We stand with them and are working hard toward a lasting and honorable peace agreement and a sovereign Afghanistan which poses no threat to any other country. (Pajhwok)
