9 Suspected Criminals Detained in Khost Raids

KHOST CITY - National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel have detained nine suspected criminals during raids in different parts of southeastern Khost province, an official said.
Deputy governor Abdul Wahid Pathan, who paraded the suspects before media representatives during a press conference here, said the detainees included three kidnappers.
He said the suspects also included three landmine planters, two others who had links with militants.  The ninth one had assassinated a religious scholar.
Pathan said security forces had also confiscated four vehicles, four different types of weapons and 40 rocket shells from the detainees.
The deputy governor also told reporters that security forces rescued a 10-year-old child named Billal who had been kidnapped from Azadi Mena Township few days back.
Mohammad Ashraf Safi, the provincial intelligence director, announced having completed preparations for the upcoming presidential vote. He assured residents of Khost that there would be complete security at polling stations. (Pajhwok)
