HELMAND - The operation to free the prisoners was conducted in Nahr-e-Siraj district in Helmand, the Defense Ministry said. At least thirteen people were freed from a Taliban prison during an operation by Afghan special forces in Nahr-e-Siraj district in Helmand province, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The statement said the individuals were all civilians.
The ministry also claimed that dozens of civilians and security forces have been released from Taliban prison over the past few months. (Tolo News)
