Afghan’s Torture Case in Iran Being Followed: Embassy

Afghan’s Torture Case in Iran Being Followed: Embassy

KABUL - Afghanistan’s Embassy in Tehran says it would follow the case of an Afghan who was kidnapped and tortured in Iran.
A statement from the Afghan Embassy in Iran received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the embassy was responsible for protection of Afghan citizens and it would follow the torture case of a young Afghan man in Hormozgan province of Iran.
The embassy said the issue had been shared with Iranian foreign ministry and the embassy was trying to comprehensively pursue the case.
A source at the Afghan embassy in Iran who wished anonymity told Pajhwok that they still had no accurate information about the Afghan man tortured in that country.
“There is a rumor that the man was engaged in a fight with local people over a family issue and he was seriously injured or killed”, the source said.  (Pajhwok)
