No Peace Until Pakistan Dismantles Militant Safe Havens: Sidiqi

KABUL - The Presidential Palace on Thursday said peace and stability would continue to elude Afghanistan until militant safe havens and training centers are dismantled in Pakistan.
Presidential spokesman Sidiq Sidiqi told a press conference here: “The peace process will certainly have good outcome if it is led and owned by Afghan government.”
He added the Taliban should attacks on people and renounce violence during peace conditions with the government.
The spokesman said Afghanistan had always asked Pakistan to destroy Taliban and terrorist safe havens on its soil and play a positive role in Afghan peace and regional security.
He said Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan during his with President Ghani had promised to remove Taliban safe havens from Pakistani soil, but no concrete action could be taken so far.
Sidiqi believed peace and stability would not return to Afghanistan until Pakistan took real action against militants and terrorists.  (Pajhwok)
