Estonia Promises Afghanistan Security, IT Cooperation

KABUL - Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas held out the promise during a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani, a statement from the Presidential Palace said. The two sides discussed mutual cooperation and shared views on issues of common interest.
Ghani welcomed the visiting prime minister to Afghanistan and thanked his country for continued cooperation with Afghanistan in different areas, particularly the role of the European nation in NATO’s Resolute Support (RS) mission.
In addition to security cooperation, the president asked Estonia for help in areas such as higher education, training of Afghan intellectuals and sharing information technology experience with Afghanistan.
Ratas, for his part, congratulated the people of Afghanistan on the successful conduct of the presidential election and termed it the best instrument for ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. He also hailed the role of Afghan forces in ensuring stability in Afghanistan.
The Estonian prime minister said Afghanistan had made tangible economic achievements and promised his country would support the war-torn nation in the field of information technology and provide scholarships to Afghan youths. (Pajhwok )
