Zaman, Russian Envoy  Talk Bilateral Issues

KABUL - Acting Foreign Minister Idrees Zaman has held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Afghanistan Alexander Mantytskiy, according to a statement on Wednesday.
Ambassador Mantytskiy called on Minister Zaman to discuss areas of bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
At the outset, the Russian envoy congratulated Mr. Zaman on his appointment as the Acting Foreign Minister, recalling with appreciation the spirited cooperation between his office as Deputy Foreign Minister and the mission.
Minister Zaman assured Ambassador Mantytskiy of continued work with the same spirit.
The Russian Ambassador briefed Minister Zaman on the status of progress in the areas of bilateral cooperation, including in the academic sphere. He also informed the Minister of the upcoming short-term training courses for Afghan police in the field of counter narcotics.
Minister Zaman commended with appreciation the areas of cooperation.
The two sides exchanged views on ways to further bolster cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting concluded with exchange of assurances, as well as wish by the Russian Ambassador for the best of success in the Minister’s assigned affairs. (Pajhwok)
