1st Shipment of India Wheat Arrives in Chabahar

KABUL - The first shipment of wheat donated by the Indian government to the people of Afghanistan has arrived at Chabahar Port and would soon be reaching Afghanistan, the Ministry of Agriculture said on Thursday.
The ministry in a statement said Agriculture Minister Nasser Ahmad Durrani held a meeting with Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar at his office.
Both sides discussed the need for dispatching 75,000 tonnes of wheat, facilitating higher education in agriculture for Afghans and India’s demand for Afghan onion.
The Indian envoy said the first shipment of India wheat had arrived in Chabahar port and would soon reach Afghanistan.
He reaffirmed New Delhi’s support for Afghanistan in higher education and capacity building.
He said there was demand for Afghanistan’s onion in India and they would welcome its export to India.
Agriculture Minister Durrani hailed India’s assistance with Afghanistan and thanked the envoy for its generous cooperation. (Pajhwok)
