Around 4m Refugees  Return During Unity Govt

MAZAR-I-SHARIF - Around four million Afghan refugees repatriated during the National Unity Government (NUG)’s four years, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Saturday.
Rahmatullah Hakimi, head of the ministry’s Repatriates Department, said they were busy implementing the Presidential order No. 305.
Addressing a gathering regarding distribution of plots to internally displaced persons here, Hakimi  said initial work of plots distribution to repatriated and displaced people was underway and the distribution would start soon.
In line with Presidential Order 305, repatriates, the plots shall be given to internally displaced persons and families of martyred security.
He said families who direly needed assistance would be given priority as mentioned in the presidential decree.
He said 62 townships country-wide have been allocated for returnees and displaced persons but these areas have been grabbed by powerful and influential persons.
Syed Masoud Qaderi, head of the Refugees and Repatriation Department for Balkh, said 1,000 families returned to Mazar-i-Sharif where 20,000 more families have been settled due to conflict in their areas.  He said his department provided cash assistance of 25,000 afghanis to each family.
Haji Sherin, head of the displaced families from Chamtal district, told Pajhwok Afghan News that only 600 families from their district had migrated to Mazar-i-Sharif. (Pajhwok)
