Power Utility Releases List of 28 Defaulters

KABUL - Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) on Thursday released a list of defaulters, mostly wealthy individuals, and gave them a week to pay the arrears.
The list features at least 28 individuals, hailing from Balkh, Nangarhar, Kabul, Bamyan, Herat and Kandahar provinces, who owes DABS 50 million afghanis.
Some wealthy individuals, including the intelligence cief central Bamyan province, Haji Mohammad Akbar, and advisor to CEO Jan Ahmad Khan, are also on the list.
Two women, Bibi Ruqia, owner of Watch Tower, and Bibi Hawa, director of the Abdul Wahab Ice Factory in Nangarhar province, are among the defaulters.
Big defaulters
Abdul Hamid, head of the Rashid Mosaic Company in Herat province, has to pay the power utility around six million afghanis.
Bib Ruqia, owner of the Watch Tower in Kabul, has to pay DABS more than 4.3 million afghanis and Attiqullah Amiri from Balkh has defaulted on bills worth 3.2 million afghanis.
Small defaulters
Abdul Bari, owner of Ice Company in Kandahar and industrialist Allah Nazar from the same province have to pay DABS around a million afghanis.
DABS warned if the defaulters, failing to clear the dues within a week, would be referred to judicial organs for legal action. (Pajhwok)
