Afghanistan No Launching Point for Attacks on Iran

KABUL - Afghanistan will not serve as a launching point for US attacks on any country in the region, the national security adviser of the South Asian state said in a meeting with Iran's ambassador in Kabul.
The US cannot plot any type of attack against regional countries from Afghan soil, Hamdullah Mohib told the newly-dispatched Iranian envoy, Bahador Aminian, ISNA reported.
The shadow of a possible war in the region between Iran and the US is at a tipping point, as the US assassinated Iran's top military commander, Qasem Soleimani, in an airstrike early Friday in retaliation for the death of a US contractor in Iraq it blamed on Iran-allied militias.
On Sunday, US airstrikes killed 25 fighters of Kataib Hezbollah, an Iraqi militia, in Iraq based on the same accusation of killing the US contractor.
Mohib added, "Kabul expects the two parties to iron out differences through dialogue."
Soleimani's assassination has stirred mass hysteria around the globe, with the international community urging restraint on both sides. (financial tribune)
