MoI Asked to Expose MPs Seeking Criminals’ Release

KABUL - Some Meshrano Jirga members hailed recent police crackdown on criminals in capital Kabul and asked the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to expose lawmakers trying to free the detainees.
Police arrested 18 criminals in recent crackdown in Kabul City after complaints against robbery, street crimes and stabbing increased.
Senate member Gulalai Akbari praised the Interior Ministry’s efforts at tightening noose on criminals and said the ministry should continue its operation against law breakers.
“The operation is a positive move, I hope in future no countrymen will fall prey to dacoits,” she said.
Amanullah Azemi, another Meshrano Jirga member, said that acting minister of interior on his Facebook page recently wrote that at least 18 lawmakers visited him for the release of recently detained criminals.
He asked the minister to expose these lawmakers as people could know who they were and where they lived. (Pajhwok)
