JALALABAD - Three uprising members and six Taliban militants have been killed in separate incidents of violence in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed uprising members’ check-post in Hazarno area of Moman Dara district late Friday night.
Three uprising group members and a militant were killed and two other militants were captured alive during the nighttime clash.
Elsewhere, six Taliban militants, including a key-commander, were killed in a Special Forces operation in Khogyani district late Friday night.
A statement from the Special Forces 02 Unit said the unit targeted a Taliban hideout in Betani area of the district, killing a key commander among five insurgents.
The Taliban have not yet commented about these incidents. (Pajhwok)
