Trump, Imran May Talk Afghanistan in Davos

PESHAWAR - Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump are expected to confer on the current situation in Afghanistan, officials say.
The two leaders may exchange views on prospects for a US-Taliban peace deal and talks between Kabul on the militant movement on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos this week.
Khan left for Switzerland today to attend the event in Davos, from 21 to 23 January 2020. It will be the third between the two sides since the prime minister’s visit to Washington in July 2019.
Although the foreign ministry in Islamabad confirmed the Khan-Trump meeting on Monday, it would not say anything about the issues they would discuss in Davos.
However, one Pakistani official said Khan would deliberate on different subjects of bilateral importance, including a potential peace deal between the US and the Taliban and direct talks between Kabul and the militant movement.
