Afghanistan Ready for  US Troop Reduction: Ghani

KABUL - Afghanistan is fully prepared if the United States scales down its military presence in his conflict-torn country, President Ashraf Ghani asserts.
At a news conference at the World Economic Forum in Davoson Thursday, Ghani was asked about mounting tensions between the United States and Iran.
"We are totally ready for a withdrawal of 4,000 (US) troops anytime President Trump decides," the Afghan leader replied, calling the proposed pullout America’s internal policy.
He hastened to add: "As far as Afghanistan is concerned, we have factored this in and we are ready to be able to see the departure of 4,000 troops."
Logistical problems meant that a withdrawal was not a simple event that happened in a single day, the president said, reiterated his administration was comfortable.
In the event of war, Ghani assured, American military bases in his country could not be used for attacks under the Bilateral Security Agreement between Kabul and Washington. (Pajhwok)
