Mohib Vows Multi-Pronged  Probe into Balkh Airstrike

MAZAR-I-SHARIF - National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib has assured the residents of northern Balkh province of investigating all dimensions of an airstrike that killed and wounded civilians.
Six women and a child of a family were killed two days ago in an airstrike on their house in Balkh district during security forces operation.
Mohib reached Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital, late on Sunday to assess the security situation. He met elders of Poki village where the incident happened.
Mohib heard their complaints and suggestions for improvement of security situation. He directed concerned authorities to work with local elders for betterment of the situation.
The local residents complained fighting continued to harm civilians. They demanded change in the situation and asked security forces to clear their areas of militants.
Mohib pledged full investigation into the airstrike and assured that steps would be taken for a positive change in the ongoing situation.
Mohib said war and peace could be won with people’s support and stressed that resident of the locality should support the government. (Pajhwok)
