Afghanistan Opens Its First and Only DNA Diagnostics Center

KABUL - Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Abdullah Abdullah opened the country’s first and only DNA diagnostics center on Sunday.
Abdullah emphasized that the independence of this diagnostics center is significant and the technology use must be free of any type of interference.
Ferozuddin Feroz the Minister of Public Health (MOPH) said that the launch of the DNA diagnostics center will greatly help to resolve the issues our health, juridical and security sectors had in the absence of such a facility.
Riaz Darmal, a deputy for the home ministry said the new technology will assist in identifying the criminals.
Afghanistan was one of the few countries that did not have a DNA diagnostic center and many residents had to travel to other countries to perform these tests.
The new center will now help in around 400.00 dollars cost reduction and speedy delivery of the test results.
This comes as Afghanistan used to send DNA tests to Canada as per a mutual agreement between the authorities of the two countries which took a long time to process and fell costly. (KHAAMA PRESS)
