Ghani Meets Delegation Probing Sattar’s Killing

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani has directed the delegation concerned to share findings of its investigation into the killing of Amir Sattar with relevant organs, a statement said on Friday.
Sattar, a former jihadi commander in central Parwan province and a supporter of President Ghani’s State Builder electoral team, was killed during an operation by intelligence forces in Khair Khana area of Kabul in the first week of January.
Sattar, his son and nephew were killed in the NDS raid, sparking angry protests in Kabul and prompting the government to order investigation.
The delegation tasked with probing the incident called on President Ghani, a statement from the president’s spokesman office said.
It said the delegation head Gen. Salam Shah Ibrahimi and members Abdul Raziq Hashmi, and Habib Rahman Afghan shared their findings with the president.
They said they had tried to investigate the operation from various aspects as per the country’s laws. However, the statement carried no details in this regard.
President Ghani, after hearing from the delegation, said the delegation’s findings were serious and coherent and praised unanimity in their views.
The president issued directives to the delegation for follow-up investigations into the incident and asked the Ministry of Interior to come up with appropriate answer to the delegation’s findings.
Ghani said besides the Ministry of Interior and security organs, the findings should be shared with justice and judicial departments for justice.
The delegation would share its findings with people through a press conference soon, the statement said. (Pajhwok)
