Af-Pak Trade Routes Should Stay Open: Sherpao

PESHAWAR - A veteran Pakistani politician has called for the opening of all trade routes with neighbouring Afghanistan.
Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao also stressed the need for building the western corridor of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on a priority basis.
Addressing a public meeting in Charsadda district on Tuesday, Sherpao said trade routes with Afghanistan should stay open round the clock.
“A prosperous and stable Afghanistan is our strategic depth,” he remarked, suggesting the landlocked should be given access to India through the Wagah border.
The situation in Afghanistan was alarming, he believed, saying the potential Iran-US conflict was another danger to regional peace and security. (Pajhwok)
