KABUL - Few hours after the announcement of the electoral results, President Ghani said in a gathering at the Presidential Palace (ARG) that his victory in the election is a victory of the Afghan nation and the republic.
Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke in a gathering at the Presidential Palace few hours after he was declared as the president of Afghanistan.
The president said, “our victory is the victory of the Afghan nation and I am dedicating this victory of the people, to the people."
In his remarks, President Ghani added, "It is now time to bring peace to every corner of the country— and every city and village."
President Ghani added that “Afghanistan is the heart of all Afghans and heart cannot be broken down. We are committed to building a nation."
Having talked about the peace process, the president said, “We want peace and a long lasting peace, and our team will bring peace to all of Afghanistan,” adding that, "The ultimate decision about the peace process will be made by the Afghan people."
President Ghani’s remarks came hours after he was declared as the president of Afghanistan by securing 50.64% by the Independent Election Commission. (TKG)
