ASTANA - Special representative of President of Kazakhstan has been appointed for  Afghanistan, reports Akorda.
"By the order of the head of state, ambassador on special missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Talgat Kaliyev has been appointed as special representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan," reads the statement.
From August 2019, Kaliyev worked as director of the Department of Foreign Policy Analysis and Forecasting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from February 2014 to July 2019, he worked as an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to South Africa, from February 2012 to February 2014, he worked as interim attorney for foreign affairs of Kazakhstan to Romania.
