KABUL - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres have discussed the need for a political settlement in Afghanistan.
The officials discussed recent progress towards a political settlement in Afghanistan, as well as ongoing developments in Yemen, Libya, and Syria, the UN chief’s spokesman Morgan Ortagus said:
Pompeo reiterated his outrage at the decision by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet to publish a database of companies operating in Israeli-controlled territories.
He said the US would continue to engage UN officials and member states on the issue but would not tolerate the mistreatment of American firms and would respond to actions harmful to our business community. (Pajhwok)
