President  Inspects Work on  Kamal Khan Dam

ZARANJ - President Ashraf Ghani, who arrived here on Sunday, said the Kamal Khan Dam in southwestern Nimroz province would start collecting water soon and it would usher the province into economic prosperity.
At the head of a high level delegation, the president arrived in Nimroz and met people from different walks of life and also participated in a see-off ceremony for the first export shipment of Afghanistan’s goods via Chabahar Port in Iran.
According to a statement from the Presidential Palace, 570 tons of goods was sent to India via Chabahar Port in the Persian Gulf.
The president also visited Kamal Khan Dam site and said it was among 100 important dams in the country, which needed attention. He said the dam completion would preserve Afghanistan’s water from being wasted.
He said more attention was being paid to Nimroz as the province was becoming economically important. (Pajhwok)
