KABUL - The funeral and burial ceremony of writer and poet Sulaiman Laiq would be held in capital Kabul tomorrow (Tuesday).
Laiq breathed his last in a Germany hospital on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha at the age of 81. He was seriously injured in a blast in September, 2019.
Dr. Zahir Shaikab, head of the Afghanistan Sciences Academy, said that Laiq’s body landed in Kabul today (Monday).
An official ceremony was held in the airport in honor of Laiq’s body. Cultural activists, members of Sciences Academy and Laiq’s supporters were present on the occasion.
On Tuesday, the funeral of Laiq would be offered in Edigah Masjid and he would be buried in the Mranjan Tapa. (Pajhwok)
