46 New Covid-19 Cases  Surface in Afghanistan

KABUL - The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Sunday said 46 new coronavirus cases were registered in the country in the past 24 hours, pushing the nation’s tally up to 37,999.
In a statement, the ministry said 281 suspected patients underwent tests in the country’s labs, with 46 testing positive for the disease during the period.
Of the new cases, 15 surfaced in Herat, 11 in Balkh, five in Farah, three each in Badghis, Takhar and Kunduz and two each in Maidan Wardak, Badakhshan and Bamyan provinces.
So far 1,387 people have died from the disease in Afghanistan and 28,211 recovered from the pandemic. The MoPH, citing a survey, recently said around one million people had been infected with Covid-19 nation-wide.
The ministry called on people to follow medical instructions and guidelines to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus in the country. (Pajhwok)
