KABUL - During a meeting with President Ghani, NATO’s Senior Civilian Representative assured that NATO will continue to support Afghan defense forces and the ongoing Afghan peace process.
According to a press statement published by Palace on Saturday, President Ghani met with NATO Senior Civilian Representative, Stefano Pontecorvo on Saturday evening.
During the meeting, NATO representative reaffirmed to continue supporting the Afghan Military and Afghan government, the statement added.
The Senior Civilian representative has also said that NATO will continue to work shoulder by shoulder with the Afghan security and defense forces.
President Ghani praised NATO’s cooperation and stated that Afghanistan still continues the fight against terrorism, he also added that the international community should continue a stable and continuous partnership with Afghanistan.
Recently, the previous US ambassador to Afghanistan, Ronald Newman said “if peace negotiations fail America will stand by the Afghan government and its defense forces.” (KHAAMA PRESS)
