Af-Pak Talks on  Enhanced Cooperation Next Week

PESHAWAR - High-level Afghan and Pakistani officials will meet in Kabul next week for talks on boosting bilateral cooperation in different fields.
Security and trade cooperation is likely to figure prominently at the meeting of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).
The meeting would take place on Aug. 31, after a hiatus of more than a year, Daily Times reported. The last meeting of APAPPS was held in Islamabad in June 2019.
Following the APAPPS meeting, the two sides will hold talks on exploring ways of strengthening bilateral trade and removing hurdles to transit trade.
Kabul-proposed amendments to the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA), inked in 1965 and revised in 2010, would come up for discussion, the newspaper.
Pakistan may also unveil a comprehensive visa mechanism for Afghans, particularly for traders, students and patients. Businessmen, students and patients are expected to get multiple visas. (Pajhwok)
