NATO Supports  Afghan Forces Against Taliban Aggression: Miller

KABUL - NATO forces commander in Afghanistan Gen. Scott Millar on Thursday said the western military alliance would support Afghan forces as long as the Taliban continued their violence.
Gen. Millar made these remarks during a meeting with high level officials in central Parwan province. He went to Parwan to visit flood hit areas and people affected by the natural disaster.
Governor Abdul Aleem Ayar briefed the visiting dignitaries about the flood situation and the devastation it caused.
The governor demanded the NATO commander provide them with emergency relief through international organizations and the US Embassy in Kabul.
In the presence of Defence Minister Asadullah Khalid in the meeting, Gen. Miller assured every kind of support and assistance in the aftermath of floods in the province.
He stressed over reduction in violence and added: “If there is no let-up in violence, NATO is ready to respond to the Taliban aggression and we stand by Afghan security institutions.” (Pajhwok)
