Wardak Rural  Rehabilitation Dept Head Arrested on  Bribery Charge

KABUL - The Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department head for central Maidan Wardak province has been arrested over taking 1.5 million afghanis in bribe 15 days earlier, but the local authorities are unaware about it.
Ministry of Interior (MoI) spokesperson Tariq Aryan told Pajhwok Afghan News that officers from the ministry’s Serious Crime Control had arrested Eng. Khalid-ur-Rahman red-handed while receiving 1.5 million afghani in bribe.
He said the case of Rahmani had been compiled and referred to the Attorney General Office (AGO) for investigation.
But Maidan Wardak Governor Spokesperson Mohibullah Sharifzai said that local security and intelligence institutions and the Governor Office were unaware of the development.
“From the past few days, the Rural Rehabilitation Department head is not coming to the office and the matter is shared with the Rural Rehabilitation Ministry as well.”
Rafiq Junbish, assistant to Rehabilitation Ministry, said he was unaware of the arrest of Rahmani and the ministry was also not informed in this regard. (Pajhwok)
