NATO Commander Supports Afghan Peace Process

KABUL - NATO Resolute Support Commander Gen. Miller says the people of Afghanistan deserve the moment of the launch of intra-Afghan negotiation (after 40 years of conflict and sacrifices by its civilian and military personnel.
He expressed the view on the occasion of 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attack, saying Afghanistan would never become a safe haven for terrorists.
“The multi-national coalition still stands strong 19 years later, protecting our homeland from terrorism. To all of you, thank you,” he remarked.
“On the eve of IAN, the #Afghan people deserve this moment. They deserve this moment because of the sacrifice of their soldiers, their police, their civilian population, after 40 years of war.”
He vowed to stand with the Afghans. “We remain committed to our cause with them. We'll support them in the #peace process. We'll continue to support them on the battlefield.
“And they (Afghans) need to know that. And we'll make sure they know that all the time. Their sacrifice is not lost on us,” said the NATO commander. (Pajhwok)
