Khalilzad Stresses Significant  Cut in Violence

KABUL - The US peace envoy on Monday expressed his concern at the uptick in violence across Afghanistan over the past few days.
Zalmay Khalilzad tweeted: “There has been a clear rise in violence in Afghanistan. This escalation is regrettable as Afghans, including many civilians, are losing their lives.
Given the recent start of Afghanistan peace negotiations in Doha, the ambassador stressed, it was imperative for all sides to rein in violence significantly.
With Afghan government and Taliban negotiators talking peace, violent clashes and bomb blasts have been reported in different parts of the country in recent days. (Pajhwok)
