Rahmon Backs Afghanistan’s Development

Rahmon Backs Afghanistan’s Development

KABUL - Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon hopes the Afghans themselves can determine their country’s future.
The Afghans could also establish peace and tranquility in their country, he told a video conference in London in honour of ex-Afghan president Burhanuddin Rabbani,
Tajikistan supported the establishment of peace and fundamental economic development in Afghanistan, he was quoted as saying by Asia-Plus.
About Rabbani’s contribution to the peace process among Tajiks, he called the late Afghan leader a strong, tolerant and far-sighted politician.
The Tajik president acknowledged Rabbani had played an important role in establishing peace and tranquility in the region and Afghanistan.
“Tajikistan has always been in touch with the government of Afghanistan, and will continue to support the peace policy of this fraternal country,” he remarked. (Pajhwok)
