I Respect Ahmad Shah Baba, Amanullah Khan: Danish

KABUL - Second Vice-President Sarwar Danish on Monday said he respected Ahmad Shah Baba and Amanullah Khan and his yesterday’s remarks were not ethnical or personal, but to compare the republican and monarchical systems.
On Sunday, the second vice President Sarwar Danish made controvercial remarks about Ahmad Shah Baba in presence of President Ashraf Ghani, triggering widespread criticism in social media.
Sarwar Danish along with President Ghani traveled to central Bamyan province and made the remarks at a gathering.
Commenting on Taliban’s Emirate, Danish said: “The Taliban regime was not different in spirit and content from the Sadozai and Mohammadzai kingdoms that ruled Afghanistan for more than 230 years.”
According to him, in the same regimes, a small group of tribes ruled Afghanistan by inheritance and dictatorship, while in the emirate system, the fate of a nation was held captive without a constitution. The emirate system was unlimited and absolutely above the law.
But Danesh told a gathering marking International Day of Peace that his purpose was not ethnic and personal, but to compare the republic and kingdom system.
He said, “I have respect for Ahmad Shah Baba, Shah Ghazi Amanullah Khan and all historic personalities.”
He said the Afghan government took measures step by step to advance the peace process, bringing together government and Taliban negotiators.
According to him, no one could win through war and peace talks should be managed in a way that Afghans could achieve lasting peace and security. (Pajhwok)
