Afghan Negotiating Team, Civil  Society Discuss Ongoing Peace Talks

KABUL - Afghan government negotiating team has assured to defend public and government values during talks with the Taliban.
The negotiating team members made commitment during video conference with civil society members on Friday night.
State Minister for Peace Affairs, delegation members Syed Mansour Naderi and other members Maulvi Attaullah Lodin, Fatema Gilani, Abdul Matin Baig, Mohammad Natiqi, Ghulam Farooq Majroh, officials of the peace ministry and civil society members participated in the meeting.
Delegation member Abdul Matin Baig said that civil society was an important organ of the government and added that available opportunity for peace needed coordination in different stages.
Maulvi Attaullah Lodin said that ongoing peace talks needed patience and tolerance and through this method public wishes and aspiration would be reflected in talks.
Civil society members raised some question regarding ongoing peace talks and the delegation members responded on them.
Delegation member Ghulam Farooq Majroh said that different stake holders of the society would be consulted on peace talks in different stages.
Answering to a question on republic, Majroh said that the international community announced its support from republic during the inauguration event of peace talks and stressed over the continuation of this support.
Naderi said that civil society was an important pillar of the republic system and the first consultative meeting was held with them. (Pajhwok)
