Afghanistan Records 61 New Cases in Past 24 Hours: COVID-19

KABUL, Afghanistan – The country has recorded 61 new positive cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health reported.
As of Friday, October 23, at least 343 samples were taken for swap test and 61 turned positive, bringing the total positive cases nationwide to 39,928.
The new cases were reported in Kabul (10), Herat (36), Kandahar (2), Badghis (2), and Kapisa (11) provinces.   
While at least 179 recovered from the disease, the country recorded two dead during the past 24 hours, according to the ministry.
The deaths were reported in Takhar and Parwan provinces, while recoveries were reported in Kandahar (3), Balkh (11), Daikundi (115), and Parwan (50) provinces.
From beginning of the outbreak, the county registered at least 40,387 infected patients, of which 34,010 are reported recovered.
While, 1,507 reported dead nationwide.
Since the beginning of the outbreak, at least 119,323 samples have been tested in the government centers and there are 5,170 known active COVID-19 cases in the country. (KHAAMA PRESS)
