KABUL - The Ministry of Public Health (PoPH) through the implementation of master plan and reforms has expressed optimize that it would get international community’s support in the upcoming Geneva conference, according to a statement on Friday.
This was stated by Acting Health Minister Ahmad Jawad Usmani in a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani at Chahar Chinar Palace. Other top officials from the MoPH were also present in the meeting, a statement from Presidential Palace said.
He said master plan regarding improvement in health services was ready and being implemented and through effective programs in the health sector it would be able to get international community’s support in the upcoming Geneva Conference.
The president after hearing from health officials, hailed government’s fight against coronavirus and stressed over full preparation for the second wave of the pandemic.
Referring to the provincial health officials, the president said: “You are the capital of this nation; betrayal with you is in fact betrayal with this nation.”
“The health ministry should end doctors’ monopoly in the hospitals and the current situation was not acceptable,” he said.
Referring to the medicine production in the country, the president said there was need for innovation and investment in the medicine production sector. (Pajhwok)
