KABUL - Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh and NATO’s Senior Civilian Representative Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo discussed the alliance support for Afghan government and forces on Saturday.
On his twitter account, Danesh said they had a very constructive discussion about NATO’s support to Afghan government, the ANSF, the peace process and negotiations with Taliban.
Danesh emphasized that the excuses Taliban were making had stalemated the peace process and if these excuses and violence continued, the Afghans would lose their trust in the process and the opportunities would be lost.
He said, “The @NATOSCR assured of a resolute support for the Afghan government, the ANSF, and human rights values in the country.
“There was a full agreement between us on the fact that Taliban must accept the current realities of Afghanistan and reduce violence.” (Pajhwok)
