Geneva Conference on  Afghanistan to Take Place Virtually

KABUL - Due to the serious Covid-19 situation in Switzerland, the ministerial Geneva conference on Afghanistan scheduled for November 23-24 will take place virtually.
The pledging ministerial 2020 Afghanistan conference is co-hosted by Afghanistan, Finland and the United Nations.
Finland Foreign Ministry in a statement said all preparations had been made for the conference, but due to the worsened Covid-19 situation, the event would take place virtually.
It said Geneva would remain as the hub for all logistics and all conference proceedings would be webcast live on UNWebTV.
The Afghanistan Ministry of Finance is responsible for technical and financial affairs for the conference co-organized by Afghanistan, Finland and the UN.
The Afghan Finance Ministry says the international community will pledge financial support to Afghanistan for another four years.
The MoF said representatives from 70 countries would take part in the conference. (Pajhwok)
