Cabinet Seeks Open Trial  of Recent  Attacks’  Perpetrators

KABUL - A Cabinet meeting, chaired by President Ashraf Ghani, has strongly condemned recent terrorist attacks in the country and called for talks with judicial organs to publicly try and execute the perpetrators.
The president termed the freedom of expression as the most valuable achievement of people and the government of Afghanistan after massive sacrifices and directed the Strategic Affairs Department to provide cash assistance to families of victims from the Journalist Support Fund.
Referring to the upcoming Geneva Conference and the Afghanistan Development and Peace National package, Ghani said the multinational conference was the beginning of reform process and every government institution was bound to ensure fundamental reform, otherwise their budgets would be suspended.
He said in future every government institution should get its budget on the basis of administrative reform, increase in revenue and justified utilization of the budget.
The president, while receiving information regarding progress in the investigation of the terrorist attack on Kabul University, hailed security forces achievements in recent offensive in Helmand and Kandahar provinces.
The meeting stressed the need for talks with judicial organs regarding open trial and public execution of perpetrators behind terrorist attacks in the country. (Pajhwok)
