BAKU - Afghanistan is responsible for U.S. drone flying over its territory, Head of the Iranian parliamentary commission for national security and foreign policy, Allaeddin Boroujerdi said during his meeting with Afghan deputy FM Mohammad Umayum Fuzi, ISNA reported.
"Presence of foreign military in Afghanistan poses a serious threat to the region," Boroujedi added.
In turn, Mohammad Umayum Fuzi noted that Afghanistan would not accept any kind of threat.

"Afghanistan does not accept any threats. Our land is Iran's land, and we stand for mutual development of our relationship with Iran," Fuzi noted.

Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Afghanistan's Ambassador Obeidollah Abid on Saturday to protest about the recent violation of the country's airspace by a U.S. spy drone, which reportedly entered Iran from Afghanistan.

On Monday Barack Obama acknowledged a US drone was in Iranian hands for the first time and said the United States has asked Tehran to return the sophisticated aircraft. It was the first open confirmation by the Obama administration that Iran was in possession of the drone, which Tehran says it brought down as the plane was flying over the country's territory.

The bat-winged RQ-170 Sentinel, designed to evade radar for surveillance flights, was on a CIA mission when it went missing, US officials, speaking anonymously, have said previously.

Tehran initially said it shot down the drone but later claimed the Iranian military managed to hack into the plane's flight controls.
