Afghan, Kyrgyz Presidents  Emphasize  Expansion of Ties

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani has thanked Kyrgyzstan for its cooperation in implementation of large regional projects and requested Bishkek cooperation for CASA-1000 and regional railroad projects.
CASA-1000 is a project of transferring electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan via Afghanistan and the railroad project links Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and then Tajikistan.
The Afghan president in a statement said he had a telephonic conversation with Sadyr Japarov, the president of Kyrgyzstan.
President Ghani congratulated Sadyr Japarov on winning Kyrgyzstan’s presidential elections and said Afghanistan lately revived its historic relations with the Central Asia. He said Afghanistan was on good terms with the Central Asian states including Kyrgyzstan.
Ghani stressed on expanding mutual relations in economic, cultural, social and political spheres.
Sadyr Japarov said Afghanistan was an important country in the region and his country was willing to have strong and lasting relations with Afghanistan in various fields.
Sadyr Japarov invited President Ghani for an official trip to Kyrgyzstan and both leaders decided to manage this official trip.
President Ashraf Ghani thanked him for the invitation and also extended him an invitation to visit Afghanistan. (Pajhwok)
