KABUL - A total of 24 new COVID-19 positive cases have been registered in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of patients in the country to 55,359, said a statement of the Public Health Ministry released on Sunday.
According to the statement, three patients have died over the period, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 2,413 since the breakout of the pandemic in the country in February last year.
A total of 14 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of recoveries to 48,041, the statement said.
The ministry urged Afghans to follow the guidelines of the health authorities to wear masks and avoid unnecessary visits to crowded areas. (Xinhua)
