Stable Afghanistan Great Strength for  Islamic World: Turkey

KABUL - Turkish religious affairs chief Dr. Ali Arbash has vowed to convene a joint conference of Islamic scholars on the conflict in Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs in a statement said Hajj and Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Qasim Halimi talked to Dr. Ali Arbash via a video link.
Halimi asked Dr. Arbash to convene a joint conference of Islamic scholars of the two countries to exchange views on the situation in Afghanistan.
Halimi said the views of Turkish scholars could play a positive role and also hoped that Turkey would give its clear view on condemning the illegal war.
During the conference, they discussed growing ties between the two countries’ scholars and the provision of higher education opportunities for Afghan scholars in Turkey.
Halimi also called for assistance and cooperation in the Hajj system and process, as well as Turkey’s assistance in building a model of education and madrassas in Afghanistan and sharing its experiences.
Ali Arbash said Afghanistan and Turkey were two brotherly countries with close religious and cultural commonalities.
He promised to convene a joint conference of Islamic scholars to strengthen peace in Afghanistan and resolve the ongoing war in Afghanistan and called a stable Afghanistan a great strength for the Islamic world. (Pajhwok)
