140 Suspects Arrested in Connection to  Rauf Abduction: Seraj

KABUL - A hundred and Forty suspected individuals, including foreigners, have been arrested in connection to the abduction of nine-year-old Abdul Rouf and investigation showed that kidnappers have links with Daesh, an official said on Sunday.
Ahmad Zia Seraj, head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), said Uzbek and Tajik citizens are among those arrested, adding that majority are Afghans. He was briefing Wolesi Jirga Commission for Defence and Internal Security about the kidnapping of Abdul Rauf.
NDS head said arrested individuals have links with Daesh and a number of suspects in the past remained the Taliban commanders.
“They planned to get ransom money against the release of Abdul Rauf and plan more kidnapping and carry out bloodshed,” he said.
The spymaster told lawmakers: “If you consider offering them ransom to free Abdul Rauf then it is ok but it will have catastrophic result.”
He said security forces are taking every step to ensure the release of Abdul Rauf. (Pajhwok)
