President Ghani Mourns  the Death of ‘Duke of  Edinburgh’ Prince Philip

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani has mourned the death of Prince Philip, who served as a consort to British Queen Elizbeth II.
The Presidential Palace in a released statement mentioned that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani sent a message to Queen Elizabeth II to express his “deep condolences” on the death of her husband, Prince Philip.
President Ghani expressed that Prince Philip was one of the most important figures in the British royal family, who served his nation and people through motivating and inspiring young people and athletes and the British public will always appreciate his works.
“Prince Philip was an eminent member of the Royal Family and made immense services for his country and people particularly in support of athletes and youth. The people of Britain will always remember him and his endeavors for his country”.
“While I join the people of Britain and the Royal Family in mourning his loss, I express my profound sympathies and condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan”, President Ghani expressed.
“I was deeply saddened by the news that His Royal Highness Prince Philip, spouse of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away”, President Ghani wrote to Queen Elizabeth II
Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth, died at the age of 99, Buckingham Palace said on Friday.
“It is with deep sorrow that her Majesty the Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh”, Prince Charles Philip the palace said in a statement.
People across the globe has shared their sympathy and condolences with Queen Elizabeth for her husband’s loss.
Prince Philip and the Queen following the tie to live as one had four children, eight grandchildren, and together had 10 grandchildren.
Prince Philip was born in June 1921, on the Greek Island of Corfu, his father was Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark.
Philip was the younger son of King George I of the Hellenes, Duke of Edinburgh’s mother was Princess Alice, was a daughter of Prince Louis of Battenberg and a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria, BBC reported. (Khaama Press)
