Russia Scorns Claims of Bounties for US Troops as Fiction

KABUL - Russia has once again spurned as fiction allegations that it offered the Taliban bounties for killing US soldiers in Afghanistan.
Moscow should explain the alleged involvement in payment of bounties for the killing of US soldiers in Afghanistan, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said this week.
In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday scorned the claims fiction and phobias of the US intelligence community.
She was quoted as saying by TASS; “We have noted once again White House accusations about the alleged bounties to Taliban militants for assassination of US servicemen in Afghanistan….”
The allegations had low or medium credibility, she said, asking Washington to present specific facts that such groundless statements were based on.
“We once again state such allegations are nothing but fiction and phobias of the US intelligence community,” the spokeswoman said. (Pajhwok)
