Ghani Orders Improved  Security in Eastern Provinces

JALALABAD - Assuring his full support, President Ashraf Ghani on Thursday instructed officials to improve security situation in eastern provinces and thwart enemy conspiracies.
President Ghani, who arrived in eastern Nangarhar province in the morning, visited the Selab Corps headquarters to assess security situation in eastern provinces.
Accompanied by a high level delegation, the president Ashraf Ghani as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces assessed the general and security situation in greater Nangarhar, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
The governor of Nangarhar, Commander of Selab Corps, Director of National Security in Nangarhar, the 3rd Brigade commander of the Selab Corps, the 1st Border Brigade, Nangarhar Police commanders and the Commander of the 3rd Special Unit of Nangarhar National Police shared their reports and plans on the security situation with the president.
Ghani praised the bravery, heroism and dedication of security and defense forces in defending the country and protecting people after hearing the reports and evaluating the plans.
He gave necessary instructions to relevant officials to improve the security situation in the eastern provinces and thwart the nefarious plots of the enemy and assured them of his full support. (Pajhwok)
