KABUL CITY - Students from 40 high schools in the capital Kabul are to sit a university entrance test on February 20, the Ministry of Higher Education announced on Saturday.
The graduates, including those who were unable to pass the test last year, should receive their entry cards from their relevant schools, a process beginning on Sunday, the ministry said in a statement.

The entry test will simultaneously take place at around 8:30am on campuses of Kabul University, Medical University, Polytechnic University, in the Education University hall and the Loya Jirga's tent.

The statement asked aspirants to avoid bringing electronic materials like mobile, walkie-talkie and weapons during the examination process, warning the participants of legal action if failed to abide by the warning.

It said the entry test for the remaining students of Kabul schools would be taken on Feb 21 and 22, adding the number of aspirants had reached 40,000 so far.

Deputy student affairs minister, Barai Siddiqui, told Pajhwok Afghan News students who had previously failed the test in their respective provinces could participate in the examination in Kabul.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education, up to 150,000 students will participate in this year's entry test. Of them, 34,000 passing the test would be enrolled to higher education institutions and another 50,000 to semi-higher education institutions across the country.
