Britain Would Continue to Support Afghans: Miliband

KABUL - Edward Miliband, leader of the opposition in British parliament, held talks with President Hamid Karzai at the presidential palace on Saturday.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said both leaders discussed the peace process, bilateral ties, and issues concerning Afghanistan and the region.

Miliband congratulated Karzai on the positive outcomes of the recently-concluded Chicago Summit.

He assured Karzai that Britain would continue to support Afghans under the framework of strategic cooperation and would help combat terror threats against the country.

The statement said both parties stressed on maintaining peace in the country and praised the efforts taken by Afghani officials.
Karzai also said Britain had play positive role in the peace negotiations. (Pajhwok)
