Taliban Leader Urge for Peace During Eid Days

KABUL - Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omer following a statement urged Taliban fighters to prevent attacks on Afghan civilians and properties during Eid days.

The statement which has been issued on the occasion of the end of holy month of Ramadan and arrival of Eid days urges Taliban fighters to gain support of the Afghans by considering the Islamic values of this holy month.
Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omer following the statement further added killing and harming the civilians is not allowed in Islam however he did not say anything regarding attacks on foreign troops.

This comes as Afghanistan witnessed violence during the Eid days in the past years which caused major casualties and damages to Afghan civilians despite heavy security measures taken by Afghan security forces.
However Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omer strongly condemned civilians casualties and urged Taliban fighters for strict measures to prevent civilians casualties.

Mullah Mohammad Omer following the statement strongly condemned civilians killings, attacks on mosques, seizing public properties and money, kidnappings and annoying civilians on highways.
According to reports a number of Taliban fighters force Afghan civilians to provide shelter and food for them.

Taliban leader following the statement also urged to end violence in Afghanistan and called for an immediate withdrawal of NATO troops from the country.

Mullah Mohammad Omer also emphasized for the re-election of an Islamic government and cancellation of Afghanistan-US strategic pact besides NATO troops withdrawal as the only way to end violence in the country. (KP)
